Today, the challenge is to keep making better and better mascots. While the company stays abreast of the latest industry technology, fabrics and animatronics, it is often the tried and true standards, coupled with imagination, that make the difference.

Because the founding partners of About Face Mascots were performers themselves, they have developed unique costume designs to ensure the comfort of performers.

Performer Friendly

Every costume head form contains a fan system complete with charger and rechargeable battery, (extra battery packs available) and are vented for maximum cooling efficiency and comfort. Head forms are also designed with well positioned, wide viewing screens to add safety and comfort to performers--permitting a better view of surroundings.

We also include performer ice vests and refreezable ice packs (extra ice packs available), to be worn inside the body of each mascot costume produced without restricting movement or desired functionality.

If outdoor venues are planned, foot treatments can be a special consideration. AFM also remembers the importance of the feet. They are hand sculpted to ensure maximum flexibility, then tread is added for comfort, indoors and out. Finally, all feet are sealed with a rubber compound for water resistance, traction, safety and durability.

Body forms if included with mascot costume design, are made with a specialized foam that's completely machine washable.

Muscle Suits:

One of the newest AFM mascot costume Body Form innovations is the Muscle Suit. It lends itself to a host of characterizations from Superman to Vikings or any athletic inspired mascot model. Fabrics can be stunning; with a glittering sheen that makes every Muscle Suit “muscled-mascot magic”.

Duplicate mascot costumes are cost-efficient and ensure that when multiple events are scheduled at the same time - your "mascot" can be at all of them to represent your organization. We can duplicate any existing mascot costumes, (even if we didn’t make the original). Contact Us for details.

Duplicate Mascot Costumes are only available to originating organizations, (those holding the copyright for the mascot character to be duplicated), due to the AFM policy of respecting copyright.

Animatronics:

Tantalize the crowds with the blink of an eye or a speaking mascot or, better yet, a speaking mascot that moves its mouth. Most mascots can be animated. Just ask our design specialists about the range of functionality available.
